Syncphonia was a set of free Apps for tablets developed by Prof Ed Hughes, Dr Alice Eldridge, Dr Chris Kiefer and Louis McCallum of the University of Sussex and Producer Liz Webb. The Apps were designed to take the stress out of ensemble performance. No more lost music, no need to sort out piles of paper at the end of a rehearsal - and performers would never get lost again.
Version 3.0 included a bundle of 36 free scores ranging from specially commissioned arrangements for absolute beginners and primary school ensembles to Handel’s Water Music, Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins and Mozart’s Overture to Cosi fan tutte. The free bundle also included GCSE set works, flexibly scored for mixed-ability ensembles. New for Version 3.0: users can upload their own scores from Sibelius using .xml and iTunes Filesharing.
